You are here: Home » Products » Bays » An Introduction to Bays

Our Bay section is a large one due to the number of types of bays and the variety within each section.  To say we can meet every need is a boast too far, but through combining our many fascia/soffits and roofs, our customers achieve great flexibility. See varying examples here.

The bay top can fit on a window built from the ground level or an oriel on any floor, as weight is not a constraint.  More complex examples have combined the porch with habitable spaces or provided a veranda, in excess of six metres long, for retirement homes, for example.

In this introduction we will list the ranges of combinations that can be put together.  We have several large bases projecting as much as 1200 mm and as long as 6400 mm.  These have varying styles of fascia from plain to Georgian O’gee.

Standard bays are either square or splayed at 45o.  Roof styles are curved (as shown in the adjacent photo), flat, or inclined.  We have recently started manufacturing a series of ‘tile’ effect bays and will add them in due course to these pages.

Bays bear a close relationship to Canopies and some moulds allow for either a bay or a canopy or a combination of both.

Please note this section is progressing well in early 2008 but there is more to be done; do call us to discuss your needs.
